Graduated from Michigan State University in 1991 with a Masters in Clinical Social Work and a BA in 1989.  I have worked in the human service field for over 20 years, the past ten as an outpatient mental health therapist specializing with working with children and their families.

My past work and training experiences include crisis counseling, sexual abuse counseling, inpatient psychiatric treatment, pediatric social work, family support work with children with developmental disabilities, parent and childcare educator.

Postgraduate trainings include and focus include:  play therapy, including art, sand tray and media techniques.  EMDR|eye movement desensitization reprocessing, addiction, behavior modification and cognitive restructuring, trauma focused brief therapy, school social work, crisis and sexual abuse counseling.

Work Experience:

Over 20 years with families, crisis counselor, sexual abuse counselor, client service manager for children with developmental disabilities and their families, pediatric social worker, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric social worker, substance abuse counselor, trainer for childcare providers and facilitator for parenting classes.  The past ten years have been focused on outpatient mental health treatment for children, teens, families and adults.  I am trained in teaching high school during undergrad and trained in school social work post masters.
